Our Mission

Church Ambassador Network of Arizona’s mission is to connect pastors with government leaders, encouraging them in their work and as bearers of God’s image, to seek opportunities to partner in ways that lead to the flourishing of Arizona.

Our Values

Christ-centered

We believe transformation happens as people see Christ accurately and rightly value Him. That is why Christ must be at the center of everything we do. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Grace-driven

In a place where political battles make grace all the rarer, we aim to be motivated by grace and to joyfully give grace away to one another. (Colossians 4:6)

Non-partisan

We are not bipartisan, which is allegiance to both sides. Neither are we partisan, which is allegiance to one. Rather, we are non-partisan, which is allegiance to no political party. (Acts 5:29)

Partnership-minded

We seek to build partnerships between churches and between the Church and government to serve people, to make Arizona a better place to live, and to bring Christ glory. (Matthew 5:16)

Prayer-focused

Our mission is dependent on prayer, knowing God moves and changes lives through prayer. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16)

Confidential

We keep personal matters shared by government leaders 100% confidential. (Proverbs 11:13)

Statement of Faith

Church Ambassador Network of Arizona uses the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith.

  1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
  5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
  7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Principles and Theology

At the Church Ambassador Network, these principles lay the foundation for our theology of government:

  1. God desires ALL people to be saved. (2 Peter 3:9)
  2. God does not fit neatly into political parties or political theories. He is not a Republican, Democrat, or Independent. He is God. (1 Corinthians 1:25)
  3. America is not a covenant nation, like biblical Israel. It is a nation that has often been blessed, because of God’s grace and because it followed the Lord, His principles, and His precepts. (Psalm 33:12)
  4. Moralism does not equal spiritual transformation. (Romans 10:3) (Romans 2)
  5. Only the Gospel has the power to properly transform people, who together transform a nation. (Romans 1:16)
  6. The Church is not a worldly voice. It is an ambassador of a heavenly kingdom.
  7. The power of true cultural renewal lies in the word of God, not in the halls of kings.
  8. Both the Church and the government are institutions created by God. They have unique roles that must remain distinct but must work together under God. (Romans 13) (2 Chronicles 19:11)
  9. The king has been uniquely called by God to administer justice with the aid of the timeless counsel of the Church. (2 Kings 12:2) (Romans 13) (2 Samuel 8:15)
  10. As Paul ministered to both the Jew and the Gentile, we will minister to the Republican, Democrat, and Independent in unique ways that never compromise the truths of the eternal Word of God.
  11. Our identity is not in a political party. We stand for God’s Word and ask others to join us there. (Joshua 5:13-14)
  12. We understand that David ruled with justice and righteousness because he walked with the Lord, his God.
  13. We are missionaries who work to build intentional relationships with the ministers of the Lord’s institution of government with a goal to serve all, build up the saints, and win the lost.

History

2014 – Concept for the Capitol Project is designed by The Family Leader, Center for Arizona Policy’s allied organization in Iowa.

2015 – The Daniel Initiative and the Iowa Capitol Project are launched by The Family Leader at the Iowa State Capitol, focusing first on the Iowa State Legislature.

2018 – The initiative is launched in Ohio.

2020 – During the COVID pandemic, Iowa’s Church Ambassador Network, at the request of Iowa’s Governor, provides meals to hundreds of public-school children.

2020 – Arizona Capitol Project is officially launched by the Center for Arizona Policy (a member of the Family Policy Alliance) to pastors across the State of Arizona.

2021 – Arizona Capitol Project begins meetings with state legislators and pastors.

Spring 2022 – Iowa’s Church Ambassador Network proposes a bill to reduce cases in the foster care system by over 50%. The bill introduces fictive care, which places children with close friends instead of foster families. The bill passes through the Iowa legislature unanimously.

Spring 2022 – Arizona Capitol Project meets with 60 of 90 legislators at the State Capitol during legislative session.

Summer 2022 – Arizona Capitol Project begins work on affordable housing with several churches throughout Arizona.

Winter 2022 – Arizona Capitol Project rebrands to Church Ambassador Network of Arizona.
